My interest in physics started during high school. Physics was my first degree. Then I decided to change path with the MSc Safety, Health and Environment following a PhD Occupational Safety and Health.

Please tell us briefly about your role in the company / at your organization:
Lecturer in Occupational Safety & Health and Operation Manager at center of excellence CERIDES of European University Cyprus. My research interests focus on ageing, Occupational Health and Safety management systems, ergonomics, teleworking, well-being, first responders’ safety and Occupational Safety & Health. Considering my research career within the framework of Occupational Safety and Health (OSH), several projects (Horizon, Erasmus etc.), emphasizing on sustainable healthy workplaces and risk assessment for first responders, pointing towards the elimination of occupational accidents and diseases, were completed at national and European level. Finally, I am an Editor in Safety Science Journal.
Your interest in STEM
I don’t have any woman role model. I am focusing on what I love doing the most and at the same time I admire every woman who is following her dream career despite all the difficulties and duties in her personal life.
Your studies
My biggest challenge was to believe in myself and what I am capable of.
You will always face challenges. Even if you are new to STEM or with 30 years’ experience. The point is to believe in you and focus on your science. Everything else will eventually follow.

In European University Cyprus, Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Sustainability are initiatives to be considered in all of our activities and research projects.
I have received the Award in Excellence in Research for Early Career Woman. This award reflects the result of my work all these years.
To find a field they really love. This is the only way to enjoy working life later on.
